cheap cigarettes

I can’t breathe in my apartment thanks to the chain-smoking neighbour who also lives here. Like many non-smokers, even the faintest whiff of cigarettes online, cigar or pipe smoke can trigger a reaction — I’m not allergic or asthmatic, but it affects me instantly. I’m sympathetic to others’ difficulty quitting smoking, but like everyone else, I have to look out for my family’s health and safety first. Initially, I asked this person to please smoke less indoors. No change. I asked this person to smoke outside, offering the use of my outdoor chairs. For awhile, that worked. But not at night, or in the rain, or if there was the slightest chill in the air. It took me three weeks to get through to someone at Public Health. According to them, there’s absolutely nothing I can do. Nothing! Because the neighbour is smoking in his/her own apartment and not in any common areas, there are no repercussions. The fact that I can’t walk into my kitchen without being bombarded by the smell of a downtown club on a Sunday morning is apparently irrelevant.[ Back to top ]
